Warm greetings to all of you. Today’s Scripture passage is drawn from Leviticus chapter 13, which speaks about diagnosing physical leprosy, but I would also like to address spiritual leprosy. Before I explain this spiritual leprosy in detail, however, it’s necessary to explain physical leprosy. It’s written in today’s Scripture passage that if someone had a swelling, a scab, or a bright spot on his skin, he should be thought as a potential leper; therefore, whenever such signs developed, this person had be taken to a priest first, and the priest had to examine him. Every illness requires a correct diagnosis before anything else. That’s why anyone suspected of leprosy had to be taken to a priest first. This implies that when it comes to spiritual matters as well, a correct diagnosis of one’s sins is also indispensable.
