The Book of Leviticus is the Word of God writing about the union between God and man. How and what kind of sacrifice should we offer in order to be united with the righteous God? For us to be one with God, we have to offer the sacrifice that God desired. The same was true for the people of the Old Testament, from the priests to the leaders of the congregation, to the common people, and to the elders. The Scripture reading we read today describes what had to be done when a priest brought guilt on the people.
